Domestication and foreignization strategies

The cross-cultural communication is indispensable in todays civilization; So adopting a translation method which is even inclining toward SL, TL or both of them will improve the translation product. This book, therefore, presents the two familiar strategies, explicitly domestication and foreignization in the translation of drama. With the purpose of achieving this goal, translators should be aware of cultural differences and methods and become skilled at strategies and tactics related to domestication and foreignization. Besides investigating strategies related to these two methods, which are used in translating drama, the frequency of strategies is also investigated in this book. The analysis should pave the way for literary translators above all those who aim at translating dramas, and should be especially useful to researchers, directors, literary translators, translator trainers, and others who are active in the area of literary and drama translation.
