Handbuch Frühe Kindheit

The second extended edition of the Early Childhood Handbook reflects the current state of research. Both theoretical and empirical fields of research and their results are presented and summarized. Against the background of the social-scientifically accentuated approaches in childhood studies, research and pedagogical training has become increasingly focused on children growing up in the dialectic of dependency during the first months and years of life on the one hand, and autonomy during adulthood on the other hand. In keeping with this, the various articles in the handbook provide an interdisciplinary view of the areas of research and fields of practice in early childhood and childhood studies.
