Arab learner attitudes to speaking correction techniques

Anticipating how well error correction feedback techniques are going to be received by learners in speaking activities is important in any effective teaching practitioners repertoire. The author explores and details which learner attitudes and perceptions her class-based research and interviews with foundation level undergraduate students uncovered, and discusses how it may impact on learners' speaking performance.

Susan has been a Tesol practitioner for 25 years, having worked in the UK, Germany, Spain and Tunisia, before going on to teach and examine in the UAE and Oman over the last ten of those years. She holds a Masters in teaching English to speakers of other languages and has been a regular presenter at the Dubai Tesol Arabia conferences.
