Reproduction in duck

Continued demand of information about breeding, artificial collection, preservation and insemination of duck semen is increasing for the effective utilization of good germplasm for production and reproduction improvement of duck and economy of the duck breeders and farmers. Analysis of seminal parameters of breeding duck is important to utilize for artificial insemination, propagation of good quality duck germ plasm in breeding places. This book has explained about shed management for breeding duck, semen collection, processing, analysis of various seminal, biochemical and enzymatic profiles of semen of duck. Moreover, it explained about in vitro fertility tests and was validated with in vivo fertility (field fertility) trial in duck. The authors hope that this information will be valuable information and increasing the semen production and utilization effectively in duck breeding. This book will be helpful to the duck farmers and duck breeding scientists to improve the reproduction and production of duck in cost effective manner and to reduce the reproductive wastage in duck breeding.
